My Heroes in my life

Last year I kept getting an idea to share stories my heroes in my life. But with all that has happened at the end of 2009, to finding time to blog about it, I sort of dropped that ball. Now that the dust has settled my thoughts have come to this subject once again I feel compelled to share what I've learned from my heroes. I'll focus on one Hero a month revealing their qualities that strengthen my life.

Carcasonne big box

We hung out with some of our neighbors and got addicted to a game called Carcasonne. In this game you build the city Carcasonne one tile at a time and receive points when you finish a city or a road, but beware when the Dragon is awakened. For the dragon can destroy your chances to win the game. If you are looking for a fun group game this is one Andy & I would love to recommend.

Craft Bug

So I have cought the Craft Bug... I Just can't stop thinking, dreaming, or making crafts. I've always done something that requried me to make something out of nothing. It usely hovered around woods, paper etc. But My mom bought me a sewing machine for my b-day a few years ago and finally I put my fears aside and pulled out that machine, crossed my fingures and went for it. I started out with making some baby binkie holders moved to baby aprons, then created stuffed animals and attempted an adult aprons. If you don't look to close and see the flaws I think I've done pretty good. Who knows maybe next year I'll be making a quilt or solving the problems of the world with my sidekick the sewing machine... any who here are a few of my creations...

In the Mind of Morgan

Andy and I went over to Jim and Julie's house to help them out with a project and Morgan came over to take his piano lessons. It was cute to hear him interact with Grandma Julie during his lesson, and after they were making lunch and grandma was defrosting bread.

Morgan said, "Why do you have a microwave?"
"So I can defrost the bread.", Julie said.
"But grandma they are so bad for you.", Morgan replied.
"Sometimes the good outways the bad, and all the good things it does for me helps me out." Julie answered.
Grandma said, "Why are they so bad?"
Morgan said, "Well they spin around and make germs when you open the door."

I thought it was funny how Morgan questioned about something that was of everyday use. Answering with innocent responses.

While we were there, there was another funny conversation. A little bit of history on sunday, Andy brought over lego starwars for him to play.
Morgan said, "Are we going to play starwars?"
Andy responded, "I can't right now I've got to go home."
Morgan said, "Why?"
"Cause' we've been here for a long time.", Andy answered.
"Well I just got here, Morgan replied.
"When are you going to come to my house Andy?, Morgan questioned.
"You have to ask your mom and dad if I can come over", Andy replied.
Morgan said, "I haven't done that yet."

Backyardigans

Steve & Danielle came over for the weekend. They were going to a farewell on Sunday and decided to hang out with us the night before... They had dressed Halie in a really cute outfit that reminded me of a TV series, The Backyardigans. See if you can see the resemblances... I tryed to gave here antennas...

Handy Andy

My sweetie was so amazing yesterday that I wanted to share with everyone what he did. I had asked him to do a few things all week and it was never done. It didn't make me a happy wife. But he showed me up by doing the few things I asked him and more he made dinner, and he did it all by himself. I was so happy when I got home I felt like a princess that night. If only this happens every week I would be in heaven, I guess here I am crossing my figures. He is the best Handy man I've ever known. Love you Babe, you made my day.

Fryn' them up

For Christmas all of us kids pitched in & got my dad a Professional Turkey Fryer. He bust it out Christmas day unfortunately Andy & I couldn't make it. But with luck they planned another night of fryn' it up & we were blessed with opportunity to try Toms sweet mana from Heaven, Redneck style.
This is when Tom carefully lowered the turkey into the 320 degrees oil... If you are a true Redneck you would use a engine lift to drop it in.

As you can see it was so hot it steamed off the juice on the turkey with in a min.

We left it cooking for 50 min.s

How many man does it take to pull a turkey out?
It takes 3 manly Men.

What color is a fried Turkey?
Black
It was on fire when it came out of the pot...
I know it doesn't look all that appetizing, believe it or not it was moist, juicy and tasty.
All hail Tom Gentry & his amazing home cookn'.
With the rest of the Gentry clan we put on a fun delightful dinner.

Rednette

I am now a Rednette (Red + Brunette). Andy, my sweet hubby, gave me a gift card to Grassroots for whatever I wanted...So I decided to get my hair done and I have to say I LOVE it. I think this is my favorite hair color... to bad that getting your hair done is so costly. Can you believe it costs me 120 dollars, ya, I know an arm and a leg but I only get it done 2 times a year. I feel like a new women a Rednette woman, watch out world here I come.

This last week we helped pack up my little sister and her family on Monday. It was so fun I was able to watch little Hallie while Danielle and Steve went to the temple. I love that little girl it was wonderful niece aunt time. I got her to smile so big and I tried to catch with a snap of my camera. Here is my snap shot of the cutie pie.
We will miss them so much and hope that they love it in potato state Idaho..... Good thing they are not to far away just another 1/2 hr away from my parents.

2009 Ridd Family Pictures

This year for Christmas we gave Jim and Julie family pictures. I sweet talked my amazing sister in-law Marie Gentry into taking our family pictures with a trade for a massage or foot zone. Even though the weather was freakn' cold, as Andy would say, she shot some wonderful family pictures... Thank you so much Marie they look so super Awesome... I still owe you a massage or zone.
Here are Marie's amazing pieces of art.
This one I love I call it "O2 Man"
I think this one Andy loved a lot.
I think this is the one that Julie loved. I liked it a lot because of the colors.

Ohhh.. How sweet two love birds.
This is the one that we gave to Jim and Julie for the other half of there Christmas gift.
Now you are entering into Camilles amateur photos please don't judge... (just kidding)
Where the kids are the family goes.
