Take a Way

At school Andy's English teacher had everyone enter into a contest. The subject was "How Music Defied the Holocaust."
We did research on the subject and found out that the Nazi forbid the Jews to play German Composers. The Nazis even sometimes restricted Jews to play or compose music. But the Jews found a way to write and find peace in music in such a horrible time in history. Some of the pieces Jews wrote inspired the music industry.
Anyway Andy entered a poem and ended up wining an award, 3rd place.
I'm so proud of him and all his hard work in school.

Take a Way
You may take me in the middle of the night.
You can try to kill my heritage.
You want to exterminate my existence
Try all you can to force my mind to break
But I will keep a tune on my lips

You may strip me of my clothes
You can try to place rules and laws to limit me
You want to control who I am
Try all you can to take my identity
But no matter your efforts I will hum those great composers

You may take or ration my food
You can mangle me with your bare hands.
You want to defile my belief
Try all you can to drown my cries to my maker
But I will always carry the songs of my tradition

The more you try to strain me the more I will resist.
The harder you try to take away from me the harder I will grip
You can change my surrounding but I will not change my passion
For the one thing you want most I can only give
and I will not award your hostility
I will leave a legacy instead that will someday imprint into the future
providing a record against your hate and chanting
the truthfulness of your nature.

Raving about Wii Rayman Raving Rabbids

Andy & I went up to Logan Last Saturday to hang out with my mom & Shauntell's family. We went shopping all day and end the night with a pizza, a game that had me rolling on the floor laughing. Rayman Raving Rabbids is the funniest game that I've ever seen or played. The creators of this game have a great sense of humor. All I have to say is if you have a Wii you have to rent or get this game. I liked it so much I would just buy the Wii for the game. This was one of my favorite activities on the game you dance with the music following the stick dude.
Here is a Youtube video of the new Rayman Raving Rabids 2, It really is like the clip.

Barnes & Nobles Travling Sushi

Andy loves Sushi if he could he would eat it everyday, or night. Well some of Andy's co-worker buddies have been trying to make their own & he got the idea to try too.
Here are our first attempt to make a California roll.
We watched a couple of "how to make your own California rolls" videos on YouTube. This was our interruption or those videos.

Andy did his California rolls seaweed out and I did mine inside out.

Andy texted a picture of the sushi & sent it to Wes his brother & Jim his father
Wes texted back saying to bring some over so we did. In so doing so we made up a pretend business called Barnes & Noble Traveling Sushi Bar.
Wes & Jess were our first customers & even Malia & Carson tried out the chop sticks.

Easter Egg Hunting

This is how we spent our Easter Sunday with Danielle & Steve. It was a day packed full of bunny carz fun like Egg hunting, coloring eggs, cupcake decorating & a wonderful Feast.
Danielle & Steve had a awesome idea to do a Easter egg hunt for one of our activities. We brought our eggs and combined them with theirs & it ended up equaling 43 eggs. Then we hunted for a park and ended up hiding our eggs in a walk along park that had a bike trail. We split the eggs into 2 piles & paired up into couples Danielle & Steve hide ours and Andy & I hide theirs. The grass at the park was up to mid cafe as you could imagine some eggs got lost never to be found again. After hours of searching for the last 6 eggs we left with only 37.
We went back to their pad and died eggs, played James Bond Golden Gun, and Decorated cupcakes.
Ohh ya we also stopped by a gated river that had a ton of duck, geese, goats, and large rats. You heard me right RATS they had dug wholes everywhere by the river. SCARY... I think they were there because people would feed the birds and goats. Steve had brought saltines for the birds and Old apples for the goats.

Below is a slide show of this eventful day.

AZ Vacation Dos

Dwayne called Jeremy, Marsha, and David, Casey to go with us to the Goldfield Ghost town and Mine tour. It was quit fun we saw a shoot out, and the little shops were a blast to roam around in. Here are some pictures hope that you enjoy them.

All of us eating 5 dollar foot longs from subway.

It's the whole darn Family

The sheriff of the shoot out came over to Dylon and Marie. It was funny because it reminded me of my dad and how he would call Dylon Marshal.

Dylon is so cute I couldn't stop taking pictures of him. He made Andy and I baby hungry.
